U.S WARSHIPS TO EGYPT, DOWN WITH USA slogans , GAS TERMINAL ATTACK 2011 FEB 07

The Pentagon says US warships are being sent to evacuate Americans from Egypt, thousands of Americans have evacuated the last two weeks without the aid of soldiers.  I think Americans have had ample time and US Government assistance to leave if they wanted to.  It has been peaceful the last few days and the Egyptian Army is protecting people.  Is it really necessary for the US to send warships?

Last week, the US Gov was going to bill Americans for the air-fare/charter to "safehaven locations in Europe"... and the Americans would be responsible for arrangements for the rest of their journey home (see article from 1/30)... and this week they have war ships to take them out of Egypt.  So let me get this straight, Americans are billed for a flight so I have to wonder if they will they be expected to cover the cost of warships.  Or is there another reason for US warships?   Another thing that is odd to me, [Groton Guard] Troops were deployed to Egypt 1/24 "to support its mission of supervising the security provisions of the Egypt/ Israel Peace Treaty"...  the first day of protests in Cairo was 1/25.  My thoughts- The Kearsarge is an attack vessel. Warships are not there to evacuate Americans... they've had two weeks and plenty of assistance with US gov planes. They are to protect Israel and yes, to ensure no one messes with the big agenda.  The unelected power elite that pull the strings of all US Gov actions have an agenda and people power just might get in the way.  Many other nations are inspired by Egyptian People and their rise against ruthless Global Capitalism. People are waking up to this… are you awake?

The unit operates C-23C Sherpa aircraft and has deployed three times in the last seven years in support of the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. The unit will provide an on-demand aviation asset to the Multinational Force and Observers commander to support its mission of supervising the security provisions of the Egypt/ Israel Peace Treaty.

"The Kearsarge, an amphibious assault ship carrying 700 to 800 troops from the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, and the Ponce have arrived in the Red Sea, putting them off Egypt’s shores in case the situation worsens.  Pentagon officials emphasized that military intervention in Egypt was not being contemplated and that the warships were being moved only for contingency purposes in case evacuations became necessary.  In addition to the Marines, the Kearsarge normally carries around four dozen helicopters and harrier jets that would permit evacuations and other humanitarian operations, the officials said. More than 1,000 Marines from the Kearsarge were sent to Afghanistan last month on a temporary deployment, leaving roughly one-third still aboard, officials said.
The Kearsarge is an attack vessel."

This from 10 days ago:
"The U.S. Embassy in Cairo said it was making arrangements to transport Americans who want to leave to "safehaven locations in Europe." Flights would begin Monday. Assistant U.S. Secretary of State Janice Jacobs said it will take several flights in the coming days to accommodate all Americans who want to leave. Jacobs, who is in charge of consular affairs, said the U.S. may also send planes to other cities in Egypt, such as Luxor, if there are a number of Americans stranded there. Americans taking the charter will be billed for the flight and must make their own travel arrangements home from Europe.
